Hi all,
It has been a long time since I have posted an update. The reason is that I have been focused on the preparation of more books. In the last week I have taken time off from this exercise to update my strategy and website improvement plan. This plan will be executed over the next two months. I am very excited about this because after 2 years of gathering ideas for website enhancements, I’m looking forward to implementing. I expect the plan will be executed in two stages:
1. Pre-publication upgrade – before the books are released
2. Post-publication upgrade – after the books are released, because they are intended to besot you into buying books
You might wonder why I have only published updates for my existing investment (equity & property) books in the last 2 years. The reason is that I want to ensure the greater possible clarity and coherence of the fundamental concepts I will be discussing, as well as to broaden the content of the books so they have greater appeal and value.
I suspect most of the upgrade will be pushed back to the 2nd stage, however that is inevitably the problem with trying to achieve too much whilst recognising the need to preserve credibility. I am inevitably going to confront criticism for being ‘too diverse’, however I shall be answering that with free content, since comforting statements are not as convincing.
Thanks for your interest and the words of appreciation to date.
Regards,

Want to hear a new ‘scientific understanding’ of the world….a new type of humanism. Well, turn your attention to Mr Brooks in the New York Times, but more importantly, sort the responses by readers to his article, and you will attain a new hope for mankind. The answer is near, but you will not find it on the front page because that is dominated by politically-correct journalists or liberals who support the media corporate agenda, which is to support the two major parties.
Read his article here and then read the ‘sorted’ comments. Brooks starts off on the right path, then he goes off on a tangent, and thus becomes a repository of ideas which are exactly the problem…a lack of individualism. Yes, the old idea of humanity being too selfish gets a revisionist interpretation…and you guessed it….we are still too selfish…we have to renounce our personal will and follow the stupid masses. What has changed….surely not the dawn of a new messiah…nope the dawn of an old one.
————————————
This 182-page report has new sections on risk management, leasing, as well as updating economic and real estate statistics and interpretation. This week we will be releasing the updated New Zealand Property 2010 eBook – the 2nd edition. The 2nd edition of the Philippines Property eBook will follow.
I have not been blogging much over the last year. I have been simultaneously working on several books on issues such as Animal Rights, Education, Government, and other philosophical topics. Much of this has involved developing and organising notes/ideas written over the last 20 years.

SheldonThinks is a personal and business resource to help people develop their critical thinking skills. The business offers a range of free content and paid publications covering important matters such as business, investment, thinking, personal development and lifestyle planning. It helps people develop strategic planning and thinking capabilities. SheldonThinks was established in 2005 by Andrew Sheldon, an experienced mining and energy analyst, upon recognising the lack of analytical skills in business and people’s personal lives. Of more concern was the compartmentalisation in people’s thinking resulting in considerable rationalisation and evasion, and a loss of integrity. People don’t realise that they are sabotaging their consciousness. Over 2009 SheldonThinks will be releasing a number of reports to draw attention to the fact that mental efficacy is critical to your sense of self worth and the performance of your enterprise.

Remember the bad old days when governments used to print money to finance expenditure? Well they are coming to a country near you. We are now seeing the Bank of England resort to the printing press, and I dare say it will not be long before other government treasuries follow suit. Budget deficits are blowing out worldwide as tax receipts slow as a result of falling economic activity. There is no stamp duty on asset sales, income tax is down, and with less retail spending, even the GST/VAT receipts are subdued. Many governments already have too much debt to take on more, so does it not follow that we might expect to see more printing of money. This has an analogous effect to share issues – it dilutes the value of your existing equity – your cash savings. The flow on effect is inflation, and its going to result in gold going to $US2,000/oz sometime soon. We have followed the ascension of gold for a decade now, since I was a mining analyst at WHI Securities, helping Australia companies raise capital for world-class mining projects on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in London. Eight months ago I wrote ‘Profit from the next gold boom‘ so investors could understand the dynamics of gold, as well as Mining Stock Fundamentals so they could make better stock selections. Precious metals offer the best investment in these times of monetary dilution.
