The SheldonThinks website was established in 2005 by Andrew Sheldon to provide readers with time-critical investment advice.
Since its inception the organisation has expanded into a range of other areas, applying its critical thinking tools to other areas including ethics, system analysis, economics, trading & investing, as well as public policy.

Andrew Sheldon Background
Andrew Sheldon was born in Sydney, Australia. After attending Knox Grammar School, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Macquarie University in 1991, followed by a Mining Engineering and Mineral Processing Graduate Diploma from the University of NSW. It was in the 2nd year of university however that a chance encounter led to an interest in philosophy, later psychology, jurisprudence and history. An interest in the stock market from 11 yo also prompted studies in economics, finance & accounting. Between 1993-98 Andrew was employed as an energy analyst with international energy consultants Barlow Jonker, specialising in Asian coal and power markets. From 1998-2003 he worked in Japan, in events management and as a mining equities analyst, before becoming a professional trader; specialising in mining stocks and property. Andrew is a consummate researcher, a critical thinker and writer. He is best known for his analysis of mining stocks and property markets, selling his insightful publications to clients all around the world. Aside from active contributions to the news media like the Japan Times, Andrew is intent upon developing more life-enhancing strategies for readers as the principal of SheldonThinks. This is the start of something big!

SheldonThinks offers a range of articles, publications and web-paged tools to affirm the importance of being goal-orientated in EVERY aspect of life, as well as providing a critical feedback-based philosophy for optimising life. Our intent is to develop the analytical capabilities of readers by engaging them in ‘real world’ concrete problems so they can appreciate the value of critical, conceptual thinking. We offer individuals and enterprises conceptual insights to improve their performance and effectiveness. Books provide a ‘low-cost’ solution which readers can absorb and apply at their own pace.
Online support and the practical application of the principles will ensure the reader is not estranged from their goals. The motivation is ultimately:
- Reward – the joy of achieving values
- Clarity – Dispelling ambivalence and managing risks through understanding
- Objectivity – Seeing facts as opportunities rather than threats
- Integrity – Motivating people to find truth rather than avoiding it
- Efficacy – Demonstrating to readers the joy, pride and confidence of efficacious thinking.
I want to convey the importance of certain fundamental conceptual values in one’s life which derive from fundamental choices about life and human values. People are often ambivalent because they were raised with mixed premises or values that have thwarted their desire to find understanding. Few people are completely whole, or completely unaffected. People can be honest and engaging in one arena, but otherwise evading responsibility, avoiding risk, or distorting their priorities to avoid confronting conflict.
Ask yourself what is the consequence in terms of their decision making and self-esteem. Conflict and apprehension are ‘life-negating’ in the context of the modern world. It is singularly the reason we persist with an ‘extortion-based’ political system based on majoritarianism.
Mission Statement
The SheldonThinks.com website provides readers with content on a range of issues, which ultimately support core values which will enhance their decision making. Various book publications and web-tools are available to support the critical thinking skills required to support those values. Our intent is to roll out a range of analytical tools for individuals and enterprises to improve their performance and effectiveness.
Our aim is to initiate a global ‘cognitive’ revolution in the 21st Century.
